Monster Hunter Wilds Sales Continue to Decline Post-Launch

October 30 , 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds scored a record-breaking launch, shifting 10 million copies in its first month — but the momentum has since fizzled out. The game’s lack of fresh content updates and ongoing performance issues have clearly impacted its longevity.

Sadly, the downward trend shows no signs of reversing, with sales continuing to decline. Capcom’s latest earnings report reveals that just 160,000 copies of Monster Hunter Wilds were sold during the quarter ending September 30, 2025. This marks a steep drop from the 477,000 copies sold in the prior quarter.

For context, Monster Hunter Wilds was outsold by fellow Capcom titles Street Fighter 6, Devil May Cry HD Collection, and Monster Hunter Rise during the same period. That said, the game still maintains strong success: it claimed the top spot among the highest-grossing games in the United States for 2025.
